Real Men is a video shot in Italy, on the Tremiti Archipelago, on the Adriatic side. Homosexuals were deported there from 1928 to 1945 under Mussolini. This crime is still not recognised by the Italian state.

"I took advantage of my stay at the French Academy in Rome, Villa Medici, where I was a resident for one year, to explore this insular and historical place. This visual proposition, wandering and contemplative, highlights idyllic islands mixing vegetal and oceanic beauty with the silence of a sinister past. Italian fascist music and songs of the partisan resistance punctuate the film's montage. A few testimonies accompany the images." According to Mussolini, homosexuality did not exist: "In Italy, there are only real men" RY.
